I have been married for over 20 years to a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. Throughout my husband’s career in the NSOF community, we’ve seen countless colleagues suffer silently from post-traumatic stress, post-concussion syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, and other life-altering effects of combat. We’ve gotten too many calls about friends committing suicide and know countless others self-medicating and self-destructing with drugs and alcohol.
